Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced
Design Modeler
for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN
. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Attend kick off meetings with Estimating and Operations staff at the beginning of projects to ensure scope, project details, and contract requirements are understood before shop drawings and/or modeling begin.
  • Prepare 2D shop drawings for glass and glazing products using AutoCAD.
  • Create 3D models of glazing systems utilizing Revit.
  • Coordinate PCI scope of work with other trades shop drawings and models.
  • Actively participate in project coordination and design meetings.
  • Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the Design Manager and Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.
  • Prepare material orders based on approved shop drawings and structural calculations.
  • Attend staff training to enhance staff members’ knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
  • Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure they are consistently aligned with instructions, guidelines, in-house standards, and the project’s BIM standards.
  • Actively engage with Designand Operations Teamto implement best BIM/VDC practices.

Salary range: $59,500 – $80,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Basic Requirements:

  • 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years of drafting experience, specifically in the glass and glazing industry.
  • 2+ years of CNC programming experience.
  • Must possess proficiency with software platforms including Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe PDF Software.
  • Ability to understand design and document coordination.
  • Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques to provide continued improvement and efficiency to role, work scopes, and our customers.
  • Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as durations of independent/isolated/unsupervised environments.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with curtain wall and storefront window systems is preferred.
  • Unitized curtain wall drafting experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks, Sketch Up, or Logikal is a plus.
  • Local to the Indianapolis metro area
