Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Indianapolis, IN.

  • Complete construction engineering and bridge design
  • Analyze and design steel and concrete bridges using in-house developed guidelines
  • Resolve engineering queries related to technical issues and the buildability of structures
  • Report and record all resolved correspondence for a single source of accurate up to date project information
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables
  • Perform quality control reviews and design reviews of calculations and drawings
  • Perform design calculations on calculation spreadsheets
  • Prepare technical specifications and provide input for the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements
  • Mentor junior staff on company construction methodologies and company construction quality control systems
  • Up to 5% domestic travel required
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field of study and4 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Bridge Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Bridge Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  • Advanced structural analysis software, including SAP
    2000, ETABS, and RISA
  • AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Open Roads Designer
  • Experience with various building materials including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
  • Building codes, standards, and seismic design principles
  • Construction Supervision
