Controls Engineer
Based in Rushville, IN, you will work as a Controls Engineer to develop, design, program, and debug new and existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance.
Responsibilities- Interact closely with cross-functional teams to develop, design, program, and debug new or existing equipment and automated/robotic solutions to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with Copeland engineers to ensure controls/automation/programming designs align with Copeland standards.
- Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected.
- Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them.
- Develop documentation for use by operators and maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.
- Ensure all production related equipment meet all safety requirements in accordance with applicable industry standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent, plus 3–5 years of related experience, or an associate’s degree with equivalent work experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, meeting facilitation, and project report‑outs.
- Experience in PLC/HMI programming.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self‑starter and team player, capable of working closely with Management, Product Engineering, Peers, Equipment Suppliers, and Plant Personnel.
- Experience and working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Online Products.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- Experience with Prism Schedule Assembly or similar scheduling systems.
- Knowledge of a 4‑day, 10‑hour work‑shift schedule or willingness to work extended hours as required.
The facility is located in Rushville, IN, less than an hour from Indianapolis. Work schedule includes a 4‑day, 10‑hour work‑shift schedule or standard five‑day schedule as per role requirement.
