The CompanyOur client is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with an established forensic engineering practice serving clients across the United States. The team provides forensic investigations, structural assessments, failure analysis and expert consulting services for a wide range of commercial, industrial and residential projects.
The RoleThe Senior Project Manager will lead forensic engineering assignments across Kentucky, managing investigations from initial site visits through to final reporting. Alongside project delivery, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing client relationships and establishing the firm's forensic engineering presence across Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding region. This role is suited to an experienced forensic engineer who wants greater autonomy, enjoys business development and is interested in building a local practice with the backing of an established national consultancy.
Responsibilities- Manage forensic engineering projects from assignment through completion.
- Conduct site inspections and forensic investigations.
- Assess structural failures, property damage and construction-related issues.
- Prepare and review technical reports.
- Manage project schedules, budgets and deliverables.
- Maintain relationships with clients, attorneys, insurers and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical review and QA/QC oversight.
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
- Identify new project opportunities within Kentucky.
- Support the growth of the firm's client base across Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding region.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence required.
- 15+ years of engineering experience.
- Background in forensic engineering, structural engineering or consulting engineering.
- Experience managing projects and client relationships.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Experience reviewing technical work and mentoring engineers.
- Experience in business development and client relationship management.
- Existing industry relationships within Kentucky are beneficial.
- Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 (depending on experience).
