Education:

College-Level Courses in Land Surveying
Registration: INDOT Right of Way Plan Development Certified

Experience:

Not less than 3 years in Land Surveying or Right of Way Engineering

Duties
  • Produce Federal, State, and Local mandated documents required for Land Acquisition in pending construction projects
  • Perform project research, review, and interpret title work
  • Prepare legal descriptions, right of way plans, right of way plats, area computations, calculation sheets, and stakeouts
  • Interpret and review Location Control Route Survey Plats and transportation design plans
  • Communicate with field crews and office staff to provide quality services
  • Communicate with clients, other consultants, and government officials for project-related items
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Skills:

  • Able to work independently, with support from the Department Manager or other Survey staff
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Able to work within a “team concept.”
  • Proficient in the use of the INDOT Right of Way Engineering Manual
  • Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual – Part III Location Surveys
  • Working knowledge of the State of Indiana Administrative Code – Rule 12
  • Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Process
  • Working knowledge of the INDOT Land Acquisition Process
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Carlson software
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Expertise in geometry and trigonometry
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday
  • Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
Other Requirements
  • Possess a valid Indiana driver's license
  • Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
  • Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy
