Join our team at the Atterbury Job Corps Center, where you will support youth ages 16‑24 by providing residential services, academic and career training, and life‑changing guidance. This federally funded program offers a year‑round, self‑paced experience for students, and you will play a key role in their success.
Responsibilities- Direct and coordinate activities of residential advisors during assigned shift.
- Oversee dormitory conditions, evaluate situations, and make decisions or recommendations.
- Assist in training and evaluation of residential living staff.
- Perform administrative duties involving student passes, leaves, evaluations, progress reports, emergencies, and terminations for assigned shift.
- Ensure safety and proper student behavior in the dormitories.
- Communicate with families by mail and phone to resolve problems and assure student well‑being.
- Coordinate dormitory activities including entertainment, unit competitions, and unit courts.
- Inspect dormitory areas, recommend maintenance work, direct dorm patrol and daily cleanup.
- Requisition supplies for dorm living and student safety.
- Arrange student visits to counselors; review related problems.
- Participate in and conduct orientation activities and social skills training.
- Maintain required student records and update the center information system regularly.
- Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
- Work overtime as directed and maintain regular, predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one‑year Job Corps or related program experience required.
- A valid in‑state Driver’s License preferred.
Includes sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Must be able to lift 40 pounds or assess the load to request assistance.
