Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Indianapolis

We are a leading Midwest-based recruiting firm partnering with our client, a premier insurance provider, to find a strategic and ambitious Senior Underwriter for their Indianapolis headquarters.

Our client has been recognized as one of the "Best Places to Work in Indiana," and for good reason. They foster a culture where high-level professional service meets a friendly, supportive atmosphere. For the right candidate, this role offers a massive "runway" for growth, with a structured transition into a leadership role within your first year.

The Work Environment
  • This role follows a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days remote) at their beautiful office on Indianapolis’s northwest side.
  • You will manage a complex book of business using modern risk assessment tools and financial analysis software, specifically focused on Professional Liability (E&O), Cyber, and D&O lines.
Role Overview
  • Risk Analysis:
Evaluate complex exposures in Professional Liability, D&O, Cyber, and Fiduciary Liability.
  • Strategic Negotiation:
Determine premiums, limits, and retentions while skillfully negotiating customer accounts to maximize profitability.
  • Relationship Management:
Act as a key communicator with agency personnel and internal departments to address the needs of insured members.
  • Portfolio Oversight:
Manage the growth, retention, and profitability of an assigned book of business, including the negotiation of facultative reinsurance agreements.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Significant experience in Professional Liability (E&O) is strongly preferred. Experience with D&O or Cyber is a major plus.
  • Leadership Presence:
Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must. You should be comfortable presenting to stakeholders and eventually leading a team.
  • Credentials:
An RPLU designation is highly recommended.
  • Technical Savvy: A strong background in financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Bonus: 8% annual bonus (based on a mix of individual and company performance).
  • Relocation:
Full relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
  • Perks:
Matched 401(k), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, and a "Volunteer Day" to support a charity of your choice.
