We are filling one Mortgage Loan Processor opening at the credit union. This position could be based at various Beacon locations in Indiana with available office space.

Role

To complete mortgage loan file from application to closing while working collaboratively with the Mortgage Loan Originators to provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service to members, vendors and credit union staff.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reviews mortgage application and generates disclosures from loan origination system for compliance with regulatory guidelines. Ensures pricing and fees are accurately reflected on each transaction. Obtains and reviews all necessary appraisals, title and tax certificates, credit documents, mortgage and hazard insurance, HOA certificates and other documents as required.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for the loan and proactively communicates with members, internal staff, realtors, title companies, etc. to respond to inquiries, resolve problems and communicate that required documentation is received and underwriting decisions are clearly communicated.
  • Reviews final underwriting for final stipulations, requests homeowner's insurance and re-verification of employment, and reviews title for outstanding property taxes and liens and expiration date.
  • Prepares and coordinates approval of final closing disclosure with title companies. Prepares and sends mortgage loan closing documents prior to closing deadline.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
  • Three to five years of loan or related banking experience
  • High school diploma or HSE equivalency
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to communicate (both oral and written) using courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent member service skills both internally and externally

    Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent time management skills
Standard Position Hours

Standard position hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
