Financial Analyst II – Risk Analysis
Next Gear Capital, a Cox Automotive brand, is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support risk analytics for its commercial portfolio. This role focuses on early identification of emerging risks across large multi‑million dollar accounts and partners with Finance, Lending, Risk, and Performance Management teams.
Responsibilities- Conduct ongoing risk analysis of large accounts, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential areas of concern.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Lending, Risk, and Performance Management to gather data and maintain a comprehensive view of account health.
- Prepare and deliver regular presentations and read‑outs to senior leadership summarizing portfolio risk insights and account‑level findings.
- Design and refine analytical frameworks, models, and reporting processes to improve the timeliness and accuracy of risk identification.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and develop innovative approaches to assessing and mitigating risk within the commercial portfolio.
- Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work and determining focus areas based on business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related quantitative discipline with 2+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, risk analytics, or a related analytical function.
- Master’s degree with up to 2 years of experience, or a non‑degreed candidate with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including logical and reference formulas, financial functions, pivot tables, best practice in financial model structure/design, assumption toggling, charting/graphing, and formatting for executive presentations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly synthesize new information across multiple business areas.
- Demonstrated analytical ability and high degree of intellectual curiosity with a track record of delivered results.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, and/or Business Intelligence programs.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools to enhance analytical modeling.
- Prior experience in commercial lending, finance, or automotive industry.
- Hybrid – 2‑3 days in‑office per week.
