Position Title

Financial Reporting Analyst

This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity while providing flexibility for virtual work. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a reasonable commuting distance from an office. Candidates outside that distance will not be considered unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.

• Coordinate and compile complex financial statements and analyze results.
• Assist in the interpretation of new accounting pronouncements and issues papers.
• Prepare draft responses to government and/or regulatory agencies’ requests and inquiries.
• Provide information for external audits.
• Interface with departments and management to communicate concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare draft technical accounting position memorandums and coordinate annual and semi‑annual Risk‑Based Capital calculations for the company.
• Maintain and update financial analysis packages given to senior management for comparison between GAAP, BCBSA, and statutory accounting analyses.
• Review actual versus forecasted medical loss ratio results.
• Recommend and develop enhancements to accounting methods and procedures.

• BA/BS in finance or accounting and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• MBAs, CMAs, and/or CPAs are preferred.
• Prior experience with GAAP or statutory accounting principles and/or SEC or other financial reporting is preferred.
