Representative Payee Specialist

The Representative Payee Specialist provides financial support to individuals served, ensuring proper management of client funds and benefits, and supports the residential and finance departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage client accounts, ensuring timely bill payments and monitoring balances.
• Develop personal budgets and ensure proper utilization of funds.
• Maintain compliance with financial limits and explore alternatives such as trusts or spend downs.
• Provide financial documentation for clients, guardians, and relevant agencies.

Benefit Administration:

• Handle Medicaid, SNAP, Social Security, and Medicare applications, updates, and reviews.
• Submit required reports and earnings information for employed clients.

Tax and Trust Management:

• Gather tax documents and coordinate tax preparation.
• Manage funeral trusts and special needs trust accounts, including contributions, disbursements, and compliance with regulations.

Energy Assistance:

• Complete applications and maintain records of energy assistance programs.

Requirements:

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Should possess excellent organization and facilitation skills
• Ability to be flexible, responsible and a team player
• Multi-task oriented
• Knowledge of Windows products preferred
• Strong working knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software
• Ability to be in office up to 2 days a week

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field and/or extensive experience as Administrative Assistant
