Controller (Air Around the Clock)

Pay Details: $ to $ per year

Position Summary

The Controller will own the full accounting and finance function for the local operating company and serve as the senior financial leader on-site. This person will be expected to bring strong technical accounting capability, but just as importantly, they must act as a business partner who can communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders, navigate big personalities without becoming reactive, and help drive organizational maturity after a recent acquisition.

The position requires someone who can move comfortably between hands-on accounting leadership and broader operational partnership. The right individual will know how to tighten process, introduce stronger accounting discipline, guide system and reporting improvements, and influence stakeholders in a practical, non-theoretical way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full accounting function, including general ledger, close, reporting, controls, and overall financial integrity
  • Help transition the business into a more scalable accounting environment, including stronger accrual-based discipline and more robust GAAP alignment
  • Build and improve processes, controls, and infrastructure appropriate for a growing organization
  • Partner with local leadership on budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business decision support
  • Serve as the finance point person during the transition to Sage, with implementation support expected from a third-party implementation partner
  • Assess, stabilize, and strengthen the existing accounting structure while ensuring the team can support future growth
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting staff
  • Communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, including individuals in highly operational, fast-paced settings
  • Provide calm, solutions-oriented leadership in moments of pressure, conflict, or urgency
  • Act as a trusted advisor who can push back appropriately, challenge when needed, and still build strong relationships across the organization
Required Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Approximately 10–12 years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least 2–3+ years of direct people leadership experience
  • Strong technical accounting foundation
  • Inventory experience required
  • Demonstrated career progression and upward movement over time
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes, controls, or infrastructure
  • Ability to thrive in an onsite, highly relational operating environment
