Senior Cost Accountant – Indianapolis, Indiana
Position Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate cost information, maintaining the perpetual inventory system, warranty and extended coverage analysis, and managing monthly financial close.
- Perform monthly and quarterly financial close tasks to ensure proper cut‑off for assets, liabilities, and expenses.
- Prepare and post general ledger journal entries.
- Analyze financial data and generate financial reports for management.
- Analyze employee benefits to ensure liabilities are appropriately stated and prepare cost reports for management.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items.
- Assist in analyzing overhead budget and establishing inventory standards.
- Provide analysis in support of global warranty liabilities, extended coverage liabilities and expenses to upper management.
- Maintain accounting policies and procedures related to cost accounting activities.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors on financial audits and internal controls testing.
