This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Financial Operations, Indianapolis, IN. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
This position is located within the Financial Operations Directorate at Customs and Border Protection. You will serve as a supervisor by providing supervision of a financial program team supporting designated operational financial revenue and accounting functions of the Directorate.
This position starts at a salary of $ (GS-13, Step
1) to $ (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $139,658 (GS-13 Step 10). GS Salary:

Typical duties include:
- Directing a team through assignment and review of work, and completion dates for subordinate employees.
- Making decisions on work-related issues or questions raised by subordinate staff members and providing technical direction and assistance to subordinate staff members.
- Ensuring proper application of financial policies, planning systems, methods, processes, and procedures.
- Analyzing transactions and work processes and ensuring financial management accountability, reporting and/or regulatory compliance.

This position is not covered under the bargaining unit. This vacancy has a local commuting area requirement, as defined below.

QualificationsExperience:
You qualify for the GS‑13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Providing technical assistance and advice to management and customers;
- Providing guidance and leadership to lower‑graded team members;
- Preparing statements and reports containing timely, accurate financial information used to manage projects and programs;
- Reviewing applicable regulations, directives, and guidance to update and improve financial processes.
