Job Summary

CNO Financial Group’s 40|86 Advisors is hiring a Director, Investment Finance who will lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting activities; partner with executive leadership; and drive strategic outcomes across 40|86 Advisors and related entities. This role ensures a strong internal control environment, manages monthly and quarterly close activities, collaborates with auditors, and develops executive and board‑level materials.

Responsibilities
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities across the organization.
  • Oversee performance reporting and key business metrics to support decision‑making.
  • Ensure a strong internal control and audit environment through coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage financial operations, including close processes and vendor oversight.
  • Develop and deliver executive and board‑level reporting and presentations.
  • Contribute to enterprise reporting initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a high‑performing team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience, including 5 years managerial experience.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly across departments and functions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and deliver under deadlines.
  • Advanced experience with Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous exposure to Hyperion, Essbase, and Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a track record of identifying opportunities and driving effective solutions.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and strong attention to detail.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, forward‑thinking mindset that supports continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Proven ability to interpret executive priorities and translate strategic direction into meaningful actions for the Investment Finance team.

Location & Travel

This role is affiliated with the Carmel, IN corporate office. Candidates must reside within a 60‑mile radius of the office and will be required to come into that office. Travel to other corporate offices may be requested occasionally. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Compensation

Pay range: $ – $ annually. Actual salary is determined by relevant work experience, skills, and location. The position is also eligible for CNO’s performance‑based annual bonus program.
