Personal Financial Counselor, PFC - Indianapolis, IN

Job Overview

This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The counselor will deliver a full range of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals.

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide personal financial management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or electronic modes of communication such as secure online chat or video teleconferencing.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership, participate in supervision, and share information regarding trends and issues.
• Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree plus 4 years of experience or a high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressional Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (based on national data; adjusted for skills, experience, and education). The position may also qualify for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
