Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Financial Coach to assist workforce program participants in building a sustainable future for themselves. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, client-focused financial coach who is passionate about helping individuals and families achieve financial stability and long-term economic success. They possess strong knowledge of personal finance topics, including budgeting, debt reduction, credit improvement, savings strategies, and financial goal setting, and can effectively translate complex financial concepts into practical, actionable guidance.
As a key member of our team, you will oversee programming for a variety of workforce development grants with dedicated financial outcomes. You’ll also be integrated into other services offered at MRNC focused on the whole family with a 2-gen approach.
Key Responsibilities Client Financial Coaching- Schedule and conduct individual financial coaching sessions with assigned clients through phone, virtual, and in-person meetings.
- Provide personalized coaching and guidance on budgeting, saving, debt reduction, credit improvement, financial goal setting, and asset-building strategies.
- Educate clients on financial literacy topics to increase confidence and self-sufficiency in managing current and future financial challenges.
- Develop individualized action plans and spending strategies to help clients achieve financial stability and long-term goals.
- Assess client eligibility for financial assistance programs and grant funding, process approved assistance, and maintain accurate grant-related records and spreadsheets.
- Maintain regular follow-up with clients to monitor progress, provide accountability, and adjust financial goals as needed.
- Design, update, and customize financial education curricula and workshop content based on participant needs and program goals.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on financial coaching, budgeting, credit management, and financial empowerment for staff, partners, and community stakeholders as needed.
- Connect participants to community resources, public benefits, workforce support, tax preparation services, banking products, and other economic mobility opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners that support clients' financial needs and goals.
- Complete and maintain client assessments, financial coaching records, and program documentation in designated databases and case management systems.
- Enter, track, and update client data, outcomes, budgets, and workshop participation records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor client progress toward established financial goals and document measurable outcomes.
- Prepare reports and maintain records required for program evaluation, grant compliance, and organizational reporting.
- Collaborate with program leadership to ensure data integrity and completion of required financial coaching documentation.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as appropriate.
- Meet established program performance metrics related to participant engagement, coaching completion, savings goals, employment retention, credit improvement, or other grant outcomes.
- Support continuous quality improvement efforts through data analysis and participant feedback.
- Maintain confidential client records and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Support organizational initiatives that advance financial wellness, economic mobility, and client success.
