A Mortgage Loan Officer is a critical member of the bank's overall team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, building long-term relationships, and contributing to the bank’s growth through quality lending.
As a key member of the team, you will work directly with customers to obtain residential loans, support overall branch operations, and deliver exceptional service.
Primary Duties- Serve customers seeking residential loan products.
- Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility.
- Analyze loan requests, identifying strengths and risks.
- Make loan decisions within authority or recommend to management.
- Communicate with clients to gather and provide required information.
- Manage and service your loan portfolio, including delinquency follow-up.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, prospects, and community organizations.
- Represent the bank at community events and networking opportunities.
- Support a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with addressing customer concerns beyond front-line staff capabilities.
- Oversee administration of loans you originate.
- Prepare reports and attend meetings as required.
- Cross-sell Bank products and services.
- Complete all required training, including BSA/AML.
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication and customer service abilities.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to analyze financial information and assess risk.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of banking regulations is a plus.
