This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Indianapolis, IN. This position is located within the Revenue Division, Financial Operations Directorate, Office of Finance (OF), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The incumbent serves as a first level supervisor by providing supervision of a financial program team supporting designated operational financial, revenue, and accounting functions of the Revenue Division. Typical duties include:
- Directing a team through assignment and review of work, and completion dates for subordinate employees.
- Making decisions on work-related issues or questions raised by subordinate staff members, provides technical direction and assistance to subordinate staff members.
- Ensuring proper application of financial policies, planning systems, methods, processes and procedures.
- Analyzing transactions and work processes and ensures financial management accountability, reporting and/or regulatory compliance.
This position starts at a salary of $ (GS-13, Step
1) to $ (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $139,658 (GS-13 Step 10). GS Salary:

Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
- Providing technical guidance and assistance to management and financial program staff on financial management, accounting, revenue collection, bond management, audit oversight, internal controls, financial reporting, or related financial operations.
- Leading or coordinating team members by assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring progress, reviewing work products, resolving issues, and supporting completion of financial program objectives.
- Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, accounting documents, audit responses, activity summaries, or financial reports to support management decision-making, program oversight, and regulatory compliance.
- Interpreting and applying financial laws, regulations, policies, directives, rulings, or audit findings to assess compliance, identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and improve financial management procedures.
