The Government Members of GovRAMP deliver services to their citizens that rely on third‑party cloud solutions. These Government members include state and local government, public education institutions, and special districts across the U.S.

Our Government Engagement Team Members help lead government entities through the GovRAMP adoption process to improve outcomes across procurement, compliance, and security. This role requires the team to listen carefully, understand each government’s needs and current processes, and position GovRAMP’s offerings accordingly, while applying GovRAMP best practices to help governments realize the program’s full value.

The GovRAMP Government Engagement Director is passionate about improving the cybersecurity of our nation. He or she is outgoing, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. This role serves as a GovRAMP evangelist and helps solidify the use of GovRAMP within our participating governments.

GovRAMP contracts with RAMPQuest—part of the Knowledge Services family—to serve as the NIST Program Management Office (PMO) and carry out program operations for GovRAMP provider members. As organizations move forward in the GovRAMP ecosystem, particularly when pursuing a GovRAMP security status, they will interact with both GovRAMP and RAMPQuest teams.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as primary point of contact for governments within their assigned territories.
  • Performs regular outreach within assigned territories to bring greater awareness surrounding GovRAMP, its offerings, and its benefits.
  • Acts as a project manager assisting government organizations through their adoption of the GovRAMP standards into their Risk and Authorization Management Programs.
  • Represent GovRAMP on calls and at meetings with GovRAMP members and potential members.
  • Serve as resource for procurement and information security officers with state and local government for how and when to apply GovRAMP Requirements
  • Collaborates with other team members in the refinement GovRAMP best practices for state and local governments, including but not limited to managing user groups and shared learnings
  • Ability to understand and edit Procurement and Information Security policy documents
  • Develop GovRAMP champions in state and local government
  • Presents at GovRAMP in-person and virtual events
  • Follow safe work practices and company rules and prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards.
  • Report all accidents/incidents (no matter how slight and including near‑mises) immediately to Human Resources
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications



Required Qualifications , Experience and

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Interest in cybersecurity and government service
  • Commitment to ongoing development of industry knowledge and skills
  • Self‑motivated
  • 5‑10 years Government experience
  • Government procurement experience preferred, specifically IT procurement experience.
  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • Technical competency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, Hub Spot preferred

Physical Requirements / ADA:

  • Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences typically have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
  • Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands, typing.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
