Dutiesand Responsibilities (include but not are not necessarily limited to):
- Compliance with the Code of Conduct and Ethics as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and highest ethical standards.
- Interacts daily with contractors and/or developers on several Town projects, predominantly residential, during construction to ensure construction per approved plans, Town standards and specifications as well as state and federal codes.
- Conducts plan and permit reviews for code compliance.
- Issues permits, payment invoices, and Certificate of Occupancies.
- Answers routine procedural inquiries from the general public and applicants regarding permitting, inspection procedures, and code questions.
- Tracking of individual PUD and other Architectural requirements are met by incoming projects.
- Tracking of Anti-monotony standards for incoming projects.
- Ability to read and understand the purpose of different construction documents and maps.
- Assists with the development and implementation of the Town’s inspection software.
- Develops standard operating procedures to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
- Assists town staff with Code Enforcement procedures.
- Provides backup support to the Administrative Assistant by cross-training on essential departmental administrative functions and assisting with those duties as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
- Other duties assigned by the Building Commissioner, Assistant Director of Planning, or Director of Planning & Building
