Position: Cancer Registry Administrator - Indianapolis, IN
Location: Indianapolis

Overview

Cancer Registry Administrator — Indianapolis, IN. Permanent, full-time position with a hybrid work schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Physical effort: standard office work. This position accumulates up to 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Files incoming cancer data reports from healthcare facilities (electronically stores faxed, mailed information).
  • Conducts death clearance follow back (detailed guidance and orientation provided; this task starts in April).
  • Conducts data pull for virtually pooled registry requests from the research community or national agencies for approved studies (guidance and orientation provided).
  • Updates cancer reporting healthcare facility contact information in software systems SEER
    * DMS, Web Plus.
  • Participates in developing registry policies and procedures to standardize operations (co-write SOPs under guidance).
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in using computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams) and ability to quickly learn and use new software systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • High preference for Oncology Data Specialist (formerly Certified Tumor Registrar, CTR) certification and/or work experience as a cancer registrar.
  • Minimum two years of work experience in roles related to collecting and managing data in health care or health care administration.
  • Ability to compose technically accurate correspondence and reports using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work independently and attend to detail while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Teamwork skills and knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: No supervisory responsibilities required.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a standard office environment.
