Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 18 months of experience in both peripheral and neurovascular interventional radiology.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital-based interventional radiology department with 4 IR rooms equipped with Siemens single and biplane c-arms
Assigned in teams of two technologists per room, with one circulating and one scrubbing
Adult patient population with a focus on vascular and neurovascular cases including angiograms, embolization, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE and intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, and central line insertions
Level 1 trauma, PE, and stroke environment
Day shifts with 4x10 hour schedule, 07:00 to 17:30
On-call required every 3rd or 4th weekend from Friday 17:30 through Monday 07:00
100% floating required within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals
Cerner EMR used
First-time travelers are accepted
All travelers expected to float within the hospital and to affiliate locations as needed
Techs participate in a team structure with clear division of scrubbing and circulating roles
Candidates must be able to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
Up to 5 days of non-holiday requested time off may be auto-approved
Scrub attire required as provided or per department policy
Previous IU perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month gap before travel eligibility
Local candidates are accepted for this allied health position and offered an in-state rate
No charting system experience required beyond Cerner
References from two supervisors required for consideration
Requirements
Current ARRT certification and BLS required
Minimum of 18 months of experience as a Cath Lab or IR Technologist
Proficiency in both peripheral vascular and neurovascular interventional radiology procedures
Experience with stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, vascular studies, venous access, drainages, and neurological studies
Ability to scrub and circulate for a variety of vascular and neurovascular cases
Cerner EMR experience preferred
IN or compact state license in hand prior to start date (license required if applicable)
Degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
AHA or RQI BLS must be current upon consideration
