Cash Posting Specialist
Location:
Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid – Mostly Remote)
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 3‑month contract (potential for extension)
About the RoleWe are seeking a Cash Posting Specialist to support a growing revenue cycle team focused on accurate payment reconciliation and insurance follow‑up. This role is ideal for someone with experience reviewing remittances/EOBs who enjoys detailed, investigative work and partnering cross‑functionally with billing and collections teams.
This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite needs during training or team meetings. Candidates must be comfortable working independently while staying connected to a collaborative team.
What You’ll Do- Review insurance remittances and EOBs for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile payments at the deposit level to ensure funds received match posted activity.
- Research discrepancies when payments are missing, incomplete, or incorrect.
- Identify and resolve reconciliation issues by escalating appropriately (no direct posting required).
- Partner closely with cash posting, billing, and collections teams.
- Contact insurance payers as needed to clarify remittance or payment details.
- Support reconciliation within a healthcare revenue cycle system.
- Work with a mix of government and commercial payers.
- Experience reviewing remittances/EOBs (copays, deductibles, payments, adjustments).
- Understanding of EFT vs. ACH payments.
- Insurance company exposure and comfort calling payers for clarification.
- Reconciliation experience preferred (deposit‑level or payment‑level).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong computer skills and ability to review financial reports.
- Experience with Brightree or similar healthcare billing systems.
- Background in medical billing, cash posting, or revenue cycle support.
- Familiarity with home care or healthcare services billing.
- Hybrid role:
Mostly remote, with occasional onsite meetings. - Training will be primarily remote.
- Equipment will be picked up onsite in Indianapolis.
- Standard weekday schedule with potential flexibility once trained.
- Option to work onsite full‑time if preferred.
