We are currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Behavioral Health to join our Arlington site. This fellowship offers a robust clinical training experience within an integrated primary care and behavioral health setting, emphasizing direct patient care, supervision, program development, and quality improvement.
Job SummaryThe Post-Doctoral Fellow provides behavioral health services to patients at JPCHC, including individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment. The Fellow works full-time on site and participates in a comprehensive training experience under the supervision of a licensed Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP).
In addition to clinical care, the Fellow contributes to supervision of practicum-level trainees, staff education, organizational consultation, and quality improvement initiatives. This role is designed to support professional growth while advancing JPCHC’s mission of integrated, community-based care.
Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) Clinical & Professional Services- Provide behavioral health services including individual therapy, group therapy, and assessment.
- Maintain full-time, on-site clinical coverage at the assigned practice location.
- Participate in integrated care delivery alongside primary care and behavioral health teams.
- Respond appropriately to patient needs, care transitions, and referrals.
- Provide supervision and consultation to behavioral health practicum students under the direction of an HSPP supervisor.
- Prepare and present 2–3 didactic trainings annually for trainees or JPCHC staff on topics related to behavioral health, integrated care, and patient services.
- Offer consultation to trainees on therapy approaches, assessment, and patient care topics.
- Design and implement an organizational consultation project with guidance from the HSPP supervisor and Practice Manager.
- Assist in educating clinic staff on behavioral health services and integrated care practices.
- Support the development and implementation of clinical pathways, quality assurance, utilization review, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision with the assigned HSPP supervisor.
- Comply with all licensing, regulatory, accreditation, and JPCHC policies and procedures.
- Assist with coordination of behavioral health services and maintain effective collaboration with internal and external referral partners.
- Participate in patient satisfaction surveys, quality monitoring activities, and Medical Staff meetings as requested.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of future Post-Doctoral Fellows.
- Participate in managed care and payer programs designated by JPCHC, including Medicare and Medicaid.
- Perform additional administrative and professional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications Required Education & Training
- Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited or equivalent program.
- Eligibility for Post-Doctoral Fellowship hours toward licensure.
- Ability to practice under supervision of a licensed HSPP.
- Experience providing psychotherapy and assessment services in outpatient or integrated care settings.
- Interest in community health, underserved populations, and integrated behavioral health.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Commitment to quality improvement, ethical practice, and professional development.
