Responsibilities
- Conduct crisis mental health and substance abuse evaluations for consumers.
- Evaluate biopsychosocial status and needs to develop an appropriate treatment or crisis plan.
- Provide 24‑hour mental health/substance abuse emergency resources to persons in central Indiana.
- Provide activities of daily living support when necessary.
- Triage patients accurately and efficiently in multiple settings (pavilion, ER, medical unit).
- Determine level of care, risk type and level (suicide, homicide, etc.) for each patient presenting in crisis.
- Conduct crisis intervention and support services for consumers of all ages.
- Perform mental health and chemical dependency screening for consumers and their families.
- Coordinate direct admissions between patients’ providers, inpatient psychiatrists, and inpatient units.
- Maintain documentation for all crisis and case‑management services, including social, psychiatric, and medical histories and presenting cases.
- Provide off‑site and community‑based response and consultation services to medical units as needed.
- Offer psychiatric coverage to Network Emergency Departments and other departments as required.
- Present detailed cases to insurance reviewers for certification and to psychiatrists on high‑risk patients.
- Participate in aggressive behaviour management appropriate to the population served.
- LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT licensure in the State of Indiana required.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental‑health related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment required.
- Experience in crisis triage and management, risk assessment, and working with mental‑health and chemically dependent populations preferred.
- Experience in a medical milieu preferred.
- Up to $7,500 in hiring bonuses available for qualified candidates.
