Our expertise spans diverse specialties, including trauma, orthopedics, cardiovascular, vascular, neurology, and general surgery. From tackling complex cases to addressing the challenges of trauma injuries, we provide critical care for high‑acuity patients across various clinical specialties.
Shift DetailsThis is an evening shift position. On call and holiday required.
ResponsibilitiesSurgical Resource Technologists provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. They assist in ensuring the presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies, and instrumentation in the operating room prior to each operation. They assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards. They assist in the turnover of the operating room after the procedure, ensuring proper routing and/or processing of all specimens, equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
They work as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- 17 continuing education units annually.
- Successful completion of Perioperative Services Preceptor class and/or completion of 4 precepting eLMS modules and/or facility based preceptor training.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the Skilled Technologist role or relevant experience.
- Ability to resource to other staff who are utilizing advanced technology in cases, including knowledge of the types of instruments utilized, and what cases utilize different technologies.
- Knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
- Strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
- Completion of application and recommendations as prescribed in the Advancement Process.
