Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327‑bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

CST SummaryThe Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is an individual with specialized education who functions as a member of the operating room team to help ensure safe, efficient, and successful surgical procedures. The CST handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgical procedures; has an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon; has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative phase;
and is constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field. Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center, providing a high acuity environment across specialties such as orthopedics, plastics, thoracics, neurosurgery, ortho/spine, gender affirmation surgeries, laparoscopic surgery, general surgery, and trauma.
- Current CST certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or completion of a military surgical technology program. Military training (Operating Room Specialist certification) must obtain CST certification within three months of start date.
- New graduates must obtain CST certification within 45 days of start date.
- Complete 60 hours of approved continuing education in a 4‑year timeframe with 15 CEUs per year.
- Current BLS certification.
- Member of a professional organization (AST) preferred.
Full‑time and part‑time day shift positions are available.
