Responds in an emergency medical vehicle to the scene of reported emergencies, nonemergencies and interhospital transports. Provides efficient and immediate basic life support care to the patient at the scene and enroute to and in the hospital. Performs non-invasive procedures and basic life support functions such as CPR, AED, and bone splinting. Performs specialized life-sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service.

Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of the critically ill or injured.

• Respond to emergency medical scenes, nonemergency transports, and interhospital transfers with an emergency medical vehicle.
• Provide basic life support care at the scene and during transport to the hospital.
• Perform non-invasive procedures such as CPR, AED use, and bone splinting.
• Deliver specialized life-sustaining procedures in an hospital-based advanced care ambulance service.
• Ensure immediate emergency care and safe transport of critically ill or injured patients.

• Indiana Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician issued by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, or national certification with ability to obtain Indiana EMT Certification within 30 days of start of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.
• Requires Indiana State driver’s license.
