Community Hospital East has an excellent opportunity available within our Maternity Services located in Indianapolis, IN. The Certified Surgical Technologist/Patient Support Technician will be responsible for providing aid in exposure hemostasis, closure, and other intra‑operative technical functions that help the surgeon conduct a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Must perform pre‑operative and post‑operative duties to facilitate proper patient care, act under the direction and supervision of the surgeon during the operation, provide patient care to maternity patients, and assist with stocking and inventory management.

• Graduation from a CAAHEP‑ or ABHES‑accredited Surgical Technology program OR graduation from an NCCT‑authorized school with completion of a GED or high school diploma. Associate degree preferred.
• Graduates of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology that is not accredited must provide a copy of a DD214 stating the base where the program was completed and a graduation certification.
• Current Surgical Technologists with an associate degree or higher in another field who have completed at least 120 surgical cases within the last four years and 30 continuing education credits within the last two years may also be considered.
• Surgical Technologist certification obtained from the NBSTSA required within six months of hire.
• 1 year of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Strong written, verbal and non‑verbal interpersonal and professional communication skills required.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi‑task with a high degree of responsibility and responsiveness.
• Takes direction well but also self‑directed and motivated.
