What You Will Do

The Adult APP Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the designated adult/transition APP team to ensure that patients are medically managed in collaboration with IHI physicians in accordance with Indiana's Advanced Practice Provider/Nursing Scope of Practice.

The Opportunity
  • Inpatient and outpatient patient management in accordance with license standards.
  • Perform procedures as delegated with competency check off by physician.
  • Provide day to day leadership to the designated APP team to promote a sense of cohesiveness and effective team interactions across disciplines while promoting efficient operations and positive patient experience and engagement.
  • Function as team resource including the evaluation of team specific educational needs and equipment/supply needs and coordination of initiatives and acquisitions.
  • Management of staff and patient concerns, complaints, or questions regarding services, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with budget development and monitoring.
  • Approval of PTO, educational conferences and professional funds, and expense reports for the designated teams.
  • Assure appropriate staffing for clinic and non-clinic coverage provided by the designated teams (ie: thrombosis coverage). Assign coverage as needed for staff absences due to PTO, conferences, and illness.
  • Make recommendations and implement changes regarding workflow and staffing as appropriate to ensure adherence to quality standards or best practice standards and established IHI strategic plans, procedures and timeline commitments.
  • Overseeing the staffing schedule for outreach, home visits, and other IHI presence required events.
  • Develop and oversee training and instruction of new team members in job duties as well as ongoing training and development of team members.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all roles and responsibilities in the APP team.
  • Assist the designated teams in establishing and monitoring progress of IHI competencies, individual and department specific goals.
  • Responsible for creating specific individual goals in support of enterprise wide strategic goals. Regular monitoring and tracking of goal progress.
  • Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of team and individual member’s performance including annual evaluations, monthly 1:1 meetings, and schedule team meetings and implement corrective action if needed.
  • Patient management includes but not limited to health history, medication review, physical examination, ordering and interpretation of laboratory and radiology studies, development and implementation of a treatment plan, education/counseling, ongoing monitoring and follow-up.
  • Documentation in electronic medical record per policies of IHI and Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
  • Authorized to administer Basic Life Support in accordance with current CPR standards.
  • Disaster point person for team regarding safety and direction of patients and staff during fire, tornado or other emergencies.
  • Minimum Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant, degree
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the management of hematology including sickle cell and thrombosis.
  • At least one years’ experience in a team lead or leadership position, preferred
  • Valid Indiana Nursing and Advanced Practice licensure or Physician Assistant Licensure

This position is open to residents of the State of Indiana, and requires routine presence at our Center in Indianapolis, IN. Frequency of on-site presence is dependent upon role and department needs.
