Job Overview
Labcorp is a global leader in laboratory services. This position seeks a Senior Medical Technologist to join the Immunology team in Indianapolis, IN.
Work ScheduleMonday‑Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
Responsibilities- Demonstrate thorough working knowledge of instruments and equipment in the department.
- Provide troubleshooting guidance to staff and resolve complex instrument and equipment problems.
- Work with vendors to resolve instrument/equipment issues and summarize investigation results.
- Coordinate timely development and completion of training materials and checklists.
- Identify and promote expertise within the department and across sites for consistent training.
- Initiate revisions to SOPs or create new SOPs reflecting current compliant processes.
- Coordinate with other departments and sites to ensure timely SOP completion and resolve obstacles.
- Coordinate with resources to ensure timely completion and implementation of new assay validations.
- Research, develop, validate and maintain procedures within the area of responsibility and recommend modifications or improvements.
- Analyze existing processes and create new approaches to improve workflow.
- Work with internal and external departments to implement changes or improvements.
- Serve as subject matter expert for department initiatives and support client audit processes.
- Maintain expertise in trained workstations and respond to staff inquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non‑traditional degree meeting CLIA & State regulatory requirements.
- Five years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
- ASCP or AMT certification.
- One year of validation experience.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as business needs dictate.
- Experience updating and writing SOPs.
- Experience creating and modifying test codes.
