Medical Lab Tech (MLT) Part-time

Harrison County Hospital is hiring a Medical Lab Tech (Certified MT/MLT) Part-time for onsite evening/night coverage in Corydon, IN (24–31 hours/week). This role supports accurate, timely laboratory information for diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring.

Key responsibilities include specimen collection and processing; performing laboratory tests and reporting results; and completing essential lab operations such as inventory management and supply ordering, quality control and proficiency testing, competency support, procedure development, and performance improvement activities.

Required qualifications/skills:

• AMT or ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist
• Qualified as CLIA’88 General Supervisor/testing personnel
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
• 1–3 years of clinical hospital experience preferred
• Completion of annual PPD testing and annual fire/safety training
• Adherence to the hospital Corporate Compliance Plan

You’ll start by reviewing pending work and prioritizing what needs to be completed during the evening/night shift. The pace flexes with patient needs—quiet stretches for documentation and follow-up, then bursts of activity when new orders arrive. You’ll coordinate closely with nursing and other departments to keep information moving efficiently, stay attentive to accuracy as you transition between tasks, and wrap up by confirming handoff details so the next shift has clear, organized continuity.
