POSITION: CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

Reach for Youth desires to add a caring and compassionate full-time youth and family therapist to join our dynamic, and diverse multi-disciplinary teams at our Indianapolis location. This role involves providing office-based individual and family therapy and participating in clinical programming within the community at various partner sites

STORY AND MISSION

Reach For Youth, Inc. was established in 1974 by a coalition of south-side Indianapolis community leaders concerned about the lack of services and programs in their neighborhood. Today we serve over
3500youth and their families from throughout Central Indiana,providing mental health and counseling interventions, Teen Court programs, school readiness intervention, and a host of other prevention services thatprovideopportunities for youth and strengthen families. The missionof

Reach For Youth is to empower Central Indiana youth and their families through prevention, intervention, counseling and youth development initiatives.

PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

Reach For Youth's mission is fulfilled through two primary programs:
Family focused counseling services and restorative justice prevention/intervention. Counseling services include individual, group and family counseling, and various educational and therapeutic groups and programs. Restorative justice/intervention services include Teen Court, both in the local schools and community, Pathways To Success Program, Restorative Justice Circles and Social Emotional Learning sessions. Reach For Youth's mental health and positive youth development services address the four essential elements of positive youth development and mental health: a sense of belonging;

a sense of mastery; obtaining independence; and promoting servant leadership through social and community engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred applicant willhavea Masters Leveldegreefromanaccredited schoolin the fieldof mental health such as:
Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Counseling Psychology.

Applicants must have obtained a provisional license by the State of Indiana as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social  Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Knowledge of the juvenile justice system, child welfare system, community resources, and or substance abuseissuesis desired.

REPORTS TO

Director of Mental Health

PURPOSE

Toprovideclinicalmental health counseling services
-including individual, family and group counseling
-to youth ages7to 18 and their families.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Conduct assessments of individuals and families
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with clients and their families
  • Conduct individual and family counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices
  • Plan, develop and deliver psycho-educational and therapeutic groups, alone and with a co-facilitator
  • Maintain collateral community contacts to advocate for and assist clients to obtain needed services and resources, and to facilitate agency referrals
  • Maintains timely documentation in a way which adheres to applicable regulations and professional practice standards
  • Assist with program planning and evaluation
  • Provide two evenings (until 6pm)
  • Other duties as assigned
