Clerical Float and make a difference every day by providing exceptional support across our Woodlawn Medical Professional Offices. We’re looking for a friendly, dependable, and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys helping both patients and staff.
As a Clerical Float, you’ll assist multiple office locations with front desk responsibilities, including patient registration, scheduling appointments, answering phones, verifying insurance, maintaining medical records, and delivering outstanding customer service. Flexibility, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication skills and pleasant phone technique as required handling various telephone and in-person communication with patients, guests, and other medical providers in a professional manner.
- Computer aptitude to do inquiry, data entry and daily system operations.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a medical office, hospital or long-term care facility strongly preferred, but not required.
- Computer aptitude to do inquiry, data entry and daily system operations.
- CPR Certification
- Math aptitude sufficient to balance and handle cash.
- Schedules appointments according to specified guidelines.
- Performs office opening procedures and closing procedures independently as scheduled.
- As the receptionist, you will greet patients and guests in a professional manner responding to questions or requests appropriately.
- Obtain complete patient demographic and insurance information for system entry and check patients in for appointments in a timely manner.
- Ensures that all telephone calls are answered promptly and handles or directs the calls appropriately.
- Sort incoming mail and incoming faxes to then distribute accordingly.
- Scan necessary patient health information into EHR, and route into corresponding patient charts, ensuring accuracy. Route incomin electronic faxes in EHR ino patient charts.
- Handle cash, balance the daily charges and perform daily deposit. Deliver deposits to bank daily as needed.
