Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Therapist Acute provides direct patient care through bio-psychosocial assessment, treatment plan development, conjoint/family therapy sessions focusing on safety and discharge planning; case management, collateral consultation and comprehensive referral services.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with a focus on improving individual and family functioning in the home, school, workplace or community.
- Provide effective and efficient mental health interventions including individual, family and process group therapies and crisis intervention appropriate to client needs.
- Provide comprehensive and fluid links to other treatment programs within the continuum as appropriate to patient treatment needs.
- Maintain clear and timely documentation and communication regarding all plans.
- Develop and implement effective and efficient treatment discharge plans as appropriate to client needs.
- Ensure appropriate utilization of material and human resources to provide quality and cost‑effective care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team in planning, facilitating, and coordinating treatment, especially in assessment, referral resources, and discharge planning.
- Engage in aggressive behavior management appropriate to the population served.
- Participate in professional development and education.
- Contribute to service line quality improvement efforts.
- Comply with all applicable Behavioral Care Services policies and procedures.
- License eligible for the LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAC in the State of Indiana.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related field.
- At least 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problem‑solving.
- Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting.
- Commitment to critical importance of customer satisfaction (both internal and external customers).
- Proficiency in providing comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
- Experience developing individualized treatment plans with a focus on improving family functioning.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and family and process group therapies.
- Capability to establish and maintain comprehensive links to other treatment programs.
- Skill in documentation and timely communication regarding treatment plans.
- Experience implementing discharge plans as appropriate to client needs.
- Knowledge of behavioral care services policies and procedures.
