Hours:

6:30 am - 5:00 pm, 4 days a week. On call requirement once a week and every 5th weekend  call holiday rotation.

Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Rad Tech

The Cardiac Cath Lab Interventional Radiology Technologist performs advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures and peripheral vascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. They are responsible for scrubbing, monitoring, and assisting providers as requested. Technologists respond with the team to patient distress situations and assist with equipment quality control and inventory management.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures by preparing site of entry, draping patient, arranging sterilized instruments and catheters, and calibrating and setting up pressure transducers and tubing.
  • Ensure all X‑ray images are of good quality and X‑ray related equipment for procedures are maintained.
  • Attend to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures.
  • Circulate during procedure, as applicable.
  • Scrub during procedure, as applicable.
  • Assist the physician in maneuvering catheters.
  • Monitor and record hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data by operating hemodynamic and electrical amplifiers and digital and line fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Participate in lifesaving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Participate in on‑call per established call schedule.
  • Assist in transporting patients to nursing units.
  • Prepare the Cardiac Lab procedure rooms by ensuring that adequate stock is available.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Effectively communicate with members of the care team to deliver high quality, patient centered care.
Qualifications

Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Education:

Associate’s Degree in Radiology or completion of a certification program in Radiography.

License:
Current ARRT (R) and current license as a Radiologic Technologist by the state of Indiana.
