Oak Grove | A Greencroft Communities Campus
Part-Time

One Team. One Mission.

Do you enjoy spending time with people, creating fun experiences, and making others feel included?

Oak Grove is looking for a Part-Time Activities Aide to help residents stay active, engaged, and connected. This is a people-focused role where the small things matter—starting a conversation, leading a favorite game, helping with a craft, sharing a laugh, or simply being there when someone needs company.

Oak Grove is part of Greencroft Communities, a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving older adults with compassion, dignity, and purpose.

What You'll Do

You’ll help bring our activities program to life while getting to know the residents who call Oak Grove home.

Your day may include:

  • Helping plan and lead games, crafts, music, exercise, social activities, and special events.
  • Encouraging residents to participate in activities that match their interests and abilities.
  • Spending one-on-one time with residents through conversation and companionship.
  • Supporting individuals with different physical and cognitive abilities, including residents living with dementia.
  • Helping with resident assessments and individualized activity plans.
  • Keeping track of participation and documenting resident responses to activities.
  • Preparing and maintaining clean, organized activity spaces.
  • Working with other departments to coordinate events and outings.
  • Assisting with resident transportation when needed.
  • Completing required records and documentation.
  • Participating in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement activities.
  • Helping create an atmosphere where residents feel welcome, respected, and included.
What We're Looking For

You don't need years of experience to succeed here. We're looking for someone with the right attitude and a genuine interest in people.

You should be:

  • Caring, patient, and respectful.
  • Dependable and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Friendly and able to connect easily with older adults.
  • Creative, energetic, and willing to participate alongside residents.
  • Organized and able to follow through on responsibilities.
  • A clear communicator with residents, families, volunteers, and coworkers.
  • Comfortable working independently when necessary.
  • Committed to treating every resident as an individual.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Previous activities or recreation experience is not required—we'll train you.
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, recreation, hospitality, childcare, customer service, or a similar field is a plus.
Physical Requirements

The position involves regular walking, standing, bending, and activity setup. You may occasionally need to lift up to 40 pounds and assist with preparing spaces or materials for resident activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals to perform essential job functions.

Why Work at Oak Grove?

At Oak Grove, your work has a direct and meaningful impact. You'll be part of a supportive team that values compassion, teamwork, respect, and genuine relationships.

We provide on-the-job training and opportunities to learn and grow while working in a welcoming environment.

Bring Your Personality. Make a Difference.

The best part of this job isn't always the activity itself. It's seeing a resident light up when their favorite song comes on, watching someone proudly finish a craft, or hearing a story you've heard a dozen times because you took the time to listen.

If you enjoy helping people, feel connected, valued, and cared for, we invite you to apply for the Activities Aide position at Oak Grove.
