AboutThe Role
We are seeking a F
loat Registration Specialist to support outpatient clinics by ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate registration processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys helping teams where needed. Onboarding includes Cerner training and shadowing with other registration float employees to learn multiple office workflows.
- Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, professional manner
- Obtain and verify financial and demographic information for accurate billing and clinical outcomes
- Schedule appointments and procedures
- Interview patients for medical information and explain charges and policies
- Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems; collect necessary payments
- Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately

This role supports short-staffed clinics
, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- Initial training onsite with experienced team members
- Expected to work independently within 3 months
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Prefer relevant experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
- Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
