The Patient Service Representative works in conjunction with providers and clinical staff to meet patients’ administrative needs. This position is vital to ensuring patients receive the Patient’s First service and treatment they deserve as soon as they are spoken with.
Responsibilities- Answer telephones.
- Schedule appointments for colonoscopies for patients with colon/rectal needs.
- Coordinate referrals.
- Check insurance eligibility.
- Utilize the electronic medical record system to verify and update patient demographic information.
The applicant must have strong listening and communication skills, work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment, mult‑task, have attention to detail, strong organization skills, and be a team player. Good judgement for maintaining confidentiality is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferred).
- Strong computer skills, including experience with intranet and internet usage, Excel, Word, email, and web‑based applications.
