Responsibilities
Check case cart supplies, turn rooms over for surgeries, pull supplies for add-on cases (including suture and medicine), handle any schedule changes, return supplies from previous cases, fill the water supply area, set up rooms for the evening, run all errands (blood bank, breast center, lab), and order extra supplies needed for cases.
ExceptionalSkills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of doctors’ and medication preference cards.
- Knowledge of sutures and medicine.
- Knowledge of all supplies, including special orders.
- Effective communication with coworkers, including doctors, nurses, and coordinators.
- Mathematical ability to calculate water supply needs and room turnover times.
- Reading proficiency to identify supplies, sutures, medicine, and schedules.
- Capability to pull cases, understand sterile techniques, and train new employees.
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to work late and during stressful hours.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 1 to 3 years of job‑related experience in pulling supplies from preference cards.
