Overview:

Assess and treat individuals, families and children with mental, emotional, or substance use disorder, including abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs. Activities may include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, prevention, and education. To be the face of New Day Center to local resources, hospitals, and other sources.

• Provide Individual, couples and family therapy as needed for clients seeking treatment.
• Provide therapy for clients in New Day’s outpatient program and assist them in dealing with substance abuse, mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.
• Perform comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, domestic violence and medical needs per week.
• Collaborate with counselors, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on social work experience and patient needs.
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.
• Provide early interventions and referrals to specialty mental health services, including referral for more intensive psychological or psychiatric support services, if needed.
• Refer patient, client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.
• Learn and lead groups based on New Day’s curriculum and beliefs.
• Assist with process groups and education groups at our Residential facility
• Plan and conduct programs to prevent substance abuse, to combat social problems, or to improve health and counseling services in community.
• Develop or advise on social policy and assist in community development.
• Attend clinical meetings and weekly supervision.
