Job Overview

The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles, assisting with luggage, and providing information and assistance to guests.

Compensation

Hourly base pay: $9–$10 per hour plus $5 per hour shift differential (12a–6a) plus $5–$10 per hour tips.

Work Schedule

Shift: 11pm–7am.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients; acknowledges and greets guests within five feet; uses guest last names during interactions (25%).
  • Uses salutation of the day, welcomes guests to the location, practices proper phone etiquette, and posts up in designated areas when not completing tasks (10%).
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously; assists guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed; opens vehicle and hotel doors for guests (20%).
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provides information about amenities and main attractions; delivers messages, items, or amenities as requested; shuttles guests to approved locations (10%).
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival; issues claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys; collects claim checks prior to issuing keys; completes and maintains ticket information; calculates and collects revenue as required (35%).
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment or within commuting distance.
  • One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Ability to read and write standard English; to read simple instructions and then write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information to guests, clients, and employees in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
  • Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide with three‑digit numbers, using units of American money.
  • Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems, applicable rates, and time passed.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission and perform parallel parking (highly desirable).
Authority and Working Conditions

Job is fairly routine; follows established practices and procedures. Decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines. Physical demands include speaking or hearing regularly, sitting or standing for extended periods, running, walking, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Lifting up to 100lb occasionally, up to 50lb frequently, or up to 20lb constantly. Work will be performed outdoors for extended periods with exposure to extreme heat and cold.
