Position: Hotel Utility Attendant (FT)
Location: Lawrenceburg

SUMMARY

Maintain a clean, safe attractive environment for hotel patrons.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sort, count, fold, mark, or carry linens and make beds.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
  • Provide personal assistance to patrons and move furniture.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Empty wastebaskets, ashtrays, and dispose of trash.
  • Transport waste and trash to disposal area.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Clean lobby area, steps, and main public areas in the morning before the hotel opens: vacuum, pick up trash, wipe counters, high dust, clean glass windows and doors, etc.
  • Get necessary cleaning supplies for departments, fellow employees, and customers as requested.
  • Clean employee areas (break room, back offices, locker room).
  • Dust and mop floor, wash and dry towels, pick up trash and stock dispensers throughout the day.
  • Respond to calls for housekeeping problems: broken glass, spills, toilet backups, etc.
  • Shampoo carpets, scrub steps, strip and wax tile floors.
  • Empty rooms of dirty/used linens and towels.
  • Transport linens and towels.
  • Provide positive communication and use customer service training skills with every patron and co‑worker.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner; report any potential safety hazards to management staff.
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position’s description where the company determines they are necessary for efficiency, productivity, or guest service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential qualifications include:

  • High‑school education or GED preferred; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, including American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate an adding machine.
  • Strong reasoning ability: ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment includes frequent interaction with customers, handling potentially heavy objects, and working in various indoor settings. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
