Overview
The Dual Career & Post Doc Recruitment Specialist plays a critical role in advancing the University’s ability to recruit and retain top faculty and staff talent by providing comprehensive dual-career support services and operational support for post doc recruitment activities. With a dual reporting structure between Human Resources and The Office of the Provost, this position serves as a strategic partner to faculty and staff spousal hires, academic units, and HR colleagues by delivering high-touch, consultative services that enhance the candidate experience and strengthen institutional competitiveness.
The Specialist supports dual-career partners of faculty and staff by providing career coaching, networking support, and regional employment navigation, while also contributing to faculty recruitment processes through posting management, candidate communications, interview logistics, and reference coordination.
ResponsibilitiesDual Career Support (Faculty & Staff Partners)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for dual-career partners of faculty and staff candidates and new hires.
- Provide individualized career coaching, including:
- Resume and CV review and refinement
- Interview preparation and job search strategy
- Career pathway exploration (academic and non-academic)
- Facilitate professional networking opportunities by connecting partners to:
- University departments and hiring managers
- Regional employers, community organizations, and professional associations
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the regional labor market, employment trends, and community resources.
- Coordinate discreetly and confidentially with academic units, HR Partners, and external employers as appropriate.
- Create and maintain dual-career resource materials, guides, and referral networks.
- Track service utilization and outcomes to support continuous improvement and reporting.
Post Doc Recruitment Support
- Provide operational and administrative support for postdoctoral recruitment efforts, including:
- Posting and maintaining postdoctoral opportunities within the ATS (Smart Recruiters)
- Coordinating and distributing job advertisements via Job Elephant
- Facilitate candidate engagement processes, including:
- Sending and managing Spark Hire one-way video interview requests
- Coordinating candidate communications and timelines
- Assist with reference check coordination and documentation
- Partner with Talent Acquisition colleagues and academic units to ensure consistent, equitable, and timely recruitment processes.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance recruitment efficiency and candidate experience.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with:
- Faculty Recruitment and Talent Acquisition teams
- HR’s People and Culture Team
- Deans, department chairs, and search committee administrators
- Regional Careers Networking Group
- Provost Office partners, as applicable
Education Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
Experience : 3 to 4 years relevant experience in talent acquisition, faculty recruitment, career development or similar.
Skill Qualifications :
- Demonstrated experience providing career coaching, resume review, or job search support.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, video interviewing platforms, and standard office technology.

Salary :
Up to $75,000, commensurate with experience
