Overview
CT Polymers is looking for an HR Assistant with strong interpersonal communication skills who will provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Manager to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations. This role assists with, but not limited to, employee onboarding, recordkeeping, benefits administration, recruitment support, employee communications, and general HR inquiries. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, organized, meticulous, and able to maintain an elevated level of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Support
Maintain digital and electronic employee records, update databases (HRIS), and manage HR calendars with accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with responding to routine inquiries, and escalate issues as needed. Assist in organizing staff events, recognition programs, and HR initiatives. Ordering of office supplies, shipping of samples, miscellaneous administrative duties.
- Recruitment & Onboarding
Assisting with job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting background checks, and coordinating new hire orientations. Prepare offer letters and assist with background checks and onboarding paperwork. Help facilitate new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Payroll & Benefits
Supporting payroll processing, verifying timekeeping, and assisting with benefits administration and enrollment. Assist employees with basic benefits questions and enrollment processes. Coordinate leave‑of‑absence documentation and track PTO usage as directed. Help maintain and update HRIS data.
- Compliance
Ensuring compliance with labor regulations, updating handbooks, and assisting with termination paperwork. Help verify timecards, collect payroll changes, and communicate payroll deadlines. Ensure data accuracy and assist with audits.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education
High school diploma required;
Associate’s degree in HR, Business, or related field strongly preferred. - Experience
2 years of HR related experience REQUIRED.
- Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Google Drive, SharePoint, and experience with HRIS software.
- Soft Skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a high degree of confidentiality.
- The HR Assistant will work in‑office, and report to the HR Manager.
- This role involves high interaction with staff and requires excellent time‑management skills to manage competing priorities.
- Full‑Time, Monday - Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm EST
