The Facility Technical Support Supervisor combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, operational planning, and vendor coordination to maintain high system availability and compliance with organizational standards.
Salary & What You’ll DoSalary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. The essential functions of this role are described below.
A Day In The Life (Responsibilities)- Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise, schedule, and mentor field technical support staff. Assign daily tasks, oversee performance, provide ongoing technical training, and establish service standards.
- Network & Infrastructure Management: Plan, install, configure, maintain, and repair LAN/WAN infrastructure. Support routers, switches, servers, workstations, cabling, and peripherals. Oversee upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management. Ensure reliability and performance.
- Field Support & Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network, software, surveillance, and hardware issues. Provide on-site support across facilities. Conduct root cause analysis and maintain incident records.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security controls, manage data backup/recovery, ensure policy compliance, participate in risk assessments.
- Inventory & Vendor Management: Manage IT asset lifecycle, procurement, tracking, and disposal. Coordinate with vendors for purchasing and support; evaluate vendor performance.
- Strategic Planning & Reporting: Develop upgrade plans and capacity forecasts. Prepare reports and contribute to budgeting and resource planning.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, structured cabling;
Windows environments; routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and surveillance systems; cybersecurity and backup strategies.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support, networking, or field services.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel between facilities.
- Ability to lift and install hardware equipment as needed.
- Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
