Your Impact

The Junior Database Administrator (DBA) works as part of IT Operations – Database Administration. Responsibilities include monitoring performance, documenting metrics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring security, configuration, and disaster‑recovery best practices.

  • Assist in database maintenance: installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Diagnose and respond to database and application issues, escalating to vendors as needed.
  • Monitor and report on database performance and capacity; provide trend analysis.
  • Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Grid Control to manage databases.
  • Help create and debug stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
  • Document operating procedures and contribute to the Service Delivery knowledge base.
  • Participate in a weekly on‑call support rotation for after‑hours and weekend coverage.
Job Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in a technical field with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with database technologies (SQL Server or Oracle) and Linux.
  • Hands‑on use of Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grid Control.
  • Support and maintain Oracle E‑Business Suite, People Soft, Web Logic, and Oracle databases in a virtualized environment.
  • Automate daily maintenance tasks via scripting; use RMAN for backup and recovery.
  • Knowledge of Oracle 10g or higher architecture.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, tune databases, edit system configuration, and design documentation.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills at all management levels.
  • Prioritize, plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Highly detail‑oriented and proactive problem solver.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Understanding of core technologies that underpin modern software development, especially data management and messaging.
  • 1–3 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred.
