Position Overview
Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines. The role involves routine technical support, on‑site service, repair, and installation of Roche products. You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service‑related issues and perform preventative maintenance.
ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. Document all activities and contribute to quality improvement with a focus on maximizing customer satisfaction. Perform routine technical support and on‑site service, including repair and installation of Roche products.
QualificationsHigh school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience. 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 1–2 years of progressive experience will suffice. Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory.
Ability to travel, including overnight travel, is required.
8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience. Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro‑mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry. Ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships.
Location & TravelThis is a field‑based role. The territory is within the San Diego area. The ideal candidate must reside in the territory. Relocation benefits are not available for this posting.
Salary & BenefitsEstimated salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $71,000 to $132,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This position also qualifies for benefits detailed at the link provided below.
