• Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3-9 areas and front-line managers) and 100-150 hourly associates within Regional Data Centers.
• Achieve organizational performance goals related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in data center operations.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Meet and exceed operational goals.
• Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
• Foster continuous learning and development, including mentoring and training in both technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, adaptability).
• Develop, improve, and share operational best practices globally.
• Hire, manage, and develop the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians. Plan and execute the infrastructure operations component of new AWS data center builds, colocation builds, expansions, including network and server rack infrastructure for daily operations.
• Balance in sourcing and/or outsourcing tasks to optimize internal skills and cost efficiency.
• Continuously improve operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

This role may support data centers in various operational stages and could require travel to established locations for training until the designated site becomes fully operational.

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational.
• Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and the operational status of the assigned facility.

Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.

• Experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components.
• 7+ years of management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
• 3+ years of experience implementing LEAN/6 Sigma methodology (continuous improvement, DMAIC/DVADV, 5 Whys, Root Cause analysis, etc.).
• 3+ years of experience in working with network cabling, optic types, test equipment, and experience with cabling infrastructure best practices within a data center environment.

• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
